A day of powerful pop music isn’t normally what you’d associate with alt dive bar, The Underground, but Scott Evans of Say Something Music had a vision for the summer holidays in Stoke-on-Trent City Centre to create an all-day music experience. With a wealth of experience in management and promotion for Stoke-on-Trent artists, we sat down with Scott to learn more about what’s set to be a unique and incredible show on our doorstep.

“You don’t really associate pop too much with the Stoke music scene” Scott explains. “I wanted to replicate the kind of all-dayers you see in larger cities with an absolute powerhouse line-up. It just so happened that when I started to curate the line-up, they were all female fronted.”

The line-up for this event features some of the best pop artists locally and further afield. From the likes of BBC Radio 1 championed Darla Jade to Manchester-based electro pop princess Ccaprice, there's plenty of tunes and artists to discover; ‘cause there’s nothing like going to a show and finding your new fave artist. Plus, Spotify famed The Kind will be hosting their first gig back on the scene with their new single ‘Young’.

Safety, comfort and positivity are the show’s most important attributes, according to Scott. “It’s set to be a one-stop-shop for the day, a safe space for young people to enjoy music. The Underground will mainly have female staff on the bar, food trucks, alternative refreshments all in one place. It’s going to be both energetic and relaxed, but all about music.”

The event is set to have BBC Introducing Midlands Fran Anderson hosting and 11 extraordinary artists across the backdrop of one of Stoke’s best-loved local music scene venues.
