Stoke-on-Trent has always been a city shaped by extraordinary people. From bold pioneers of the past to inspiring changemakers of today and the visionaries paving our future, their stories are woven into the fabric of our community. Now, it’s time to celebrate them.
Introducing 100 Years, 100 Faces—a vibrant mural that will stand as a living tribute to the individuals who have left their mark on our city. Spanning the last century and looking ahead to the next, this mural will feature 100 faces that reflect the rich tapestry of talent, resilience, and innovation that defines our city. The mural, scheduled for unveiling this Autumn, has been funded by Stoke-on-Trent City Centre Business Improvement District (BID) and will be accompanied by a dedicated book to highlight those commemorated plus honourable mentions.
But this is more than art—it’s a chance for you to shape history. We’re inviting the public to nominate the people they believe should be celebrated. Whether it’s a trailblazing local figure, a quiet hero who’s touched lives, or someone whose contributions are shaping the future, their story deserves to be told.
Let’s celebrate 100 years of Hanley’s past, present, and future—100 faces at a time.
This is your city, your history, your mural.
