Stoke Tri Services Veterans Support, in collaboration with Stoke-on-Trent City Centre Business Improvement District (BID), proudly announces the upcoming celebration of Armed Forces Day in Stoke-on-Trent City Centre.
On 22 June 2024, the city centre will come alive with a vibrant and heartfelt tribute to honour service people with a family fun event.
Armed Forces Day is a momentous occasion, dedicated to the dedication, sacrifice, and valour of our Armed Forces personnel. This year, Hanley is set to host the occasion, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages. Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June, falling this year on 29 June, so the celebrations in the city centre are set to kick-start a week of commemoration across the country.
Attendees can expect a showcase of the rich heritage and tradition of the Armed Forces, from interactive exhibits, children’s activities, wartime vehicles and crafts. Plus, Potteries Artisan Market will be in attendance with a variety of artisanal gifts, tasty treats and quirky homewares for sale. The event will also showcase live music performances from local talented musicians, showcasing songs from the 1940s and modern classics.
Tri Services & Veterans Support relocated from Newcastle-under-Lyme to the city centre at the end of 2023, and supports veterans and their families with foodbank services, welfare and activities throughout the year. Tracey Robinson, Centre Manager said: "We the Trustees and Members of Tri Services and Veteran Support Centre are incredibly proud to be working with Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID in assisting with this year's Armed Forces Day event in Hanley and would like to thank them for this opportunity to celebrate with the local community."
Richard Buxton, CEO of Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID welcomes the collaborative efforts with Tri Services: “We look forward to supporting this new event in the city centre, which we hope local families will enjoy and engage in. Giving the platform for local people to engage and connect with charitable organisations such as the Veterans Support team is really important to us as a BID, so we hope this event gives local people and businesses the chance to celebrate together.”
Is it on the Festival Site? or Nearer to the bus Station? or close to the market Square?
As I am disabled and can't walk too far I need to know a rough idea where I could park. Thank you
