It could easily be assumed that large brand stores in a city centre are all about profits and footfall and perhaps not the top choice response to the question, ‘who is raising money on the High Street for mental health services?’

However, Card Factory in Stoke on Trent is challenging that perception with a rather
exceptional fundraising plan for the mental health charity MIND UK.

Staff members from Card Factory stores in Hanley, Tunstall and Freeport are undertaking a whopping 10,000 ft tandem skydive on the 18th of May to raise well over £1000 for the charity so far.

This daring and exciting challenge is being undertaken by Alicia Burton from the Hanley store and store managers from Tunstall and Freeport.

In fact the fundraising is just part of an array of ongoing fundraising that happens at Card Factory who regularly raid money for local charities like the Dougie Mac.

Card Factory is all about ‘celebrating life’s moments’ and fundraising is evidently part of that service.

Offering great value personalised cards, gifts and balloons, Card Factory say, ‘we want to make it as easy as possible for you to celebrate every special occasion.’
Starting back in 1997 in Wakefield, Card Factory has over 1000 stores around the UK and Ireland, and the company has a strong fundraising ethos at its heart.

The website states:
‘We also believe in giving to a good cause, which is why we are proud to say that so far, we have raised over £6 million for Macmillan Cancer Support through fundraising events and in-store collections.’

There is also a Card Factory Foundation, a registered charity dedicated to helping people and communities in moments that matter.

Their mission is clear

'We are committed to helping people and communities in moments that matter. Since our inception in 2018, Card Factory Plc has proudly donated over £5 million to the Card Factory Foundation. This has extended our support to thousands of individuals, charities and community organisations throughout the UK. We remain resolute in our dedication to continuing this vital work’.

We want to wish Alicia and her colleagues all the very best for their big skydive in May.

Be sure to visit stores in Hanley, Tunstall and Freeport to offer your support to their
fundraising efforts.
