Hey! We're Steven and Kim, the couple running the page We Love Stoke on Instagram. We started our page in 2022 to share our love for amazing things that’s going on in our city, from places to eat, places to go, and places to see!
Love is in the air, and with Valentine's Day around the corner, we've been chatting with the fantastic Stoke-on-Trent BID team, sharing the details on what we LOVE about our City Centre. We've shortlisted 5 awesome places for you to explore, but trust us, there’s so much more!
Little Dumpling King: Flavour explosion! That’s the only way we can describe this incredible restaurant, our Insta feed will be full of photos of their dishes because we’re here often! The whole Piccadilly street is an incredible for food, so whether you’re on a date, going out with friends, arranging a party or just wanting a bite to eat, we really recommend LDK! - Dumplings, Baos, plenty of beers and natural wines, we can promise you, you won’t be disappointed!
Drop City Books: If you're into page-turners, good vibes, and a cozy atmosphere, this spot is a bookworm's paradise. We absolutely love how colourful and how much choice DCB has, and what’s better is knowing that it’s a fresh independent bookshop and you know you’re supporting locally! They also run book clubs, author signings, and are very knowledgable when it comes to these text treasures!
Bloom: This place is something that means a lot to us for us it where our story began, when Steven was searching for the perfect place for a first date bloom stood out with it’s beautiful signature cocktails and instagrammable flowery decor he instantly knew it was the perfect place to win Kim over - and he was right. Since then we have made sure to go back at least once a year and every time we have been so impressed with the service and the how magnificent both the drinks and food are, and Bloom isn’t just a great first date venue it’s also just a lovely bar to visit, and Kim is sure it will make a great hen night venue!
Regent Theatre: The Regent Theatre is the star of the show! We’ve been fortunate enough to be able to attend many shows here, from plays to musicals we should be grateful to have such a brilliant theatre in our city! - They put on some incredible productions, and the panto is a MUST when it comes to having a yearly tradition! We’re especially looking forward to Jesus Christ Superstar, Madagascar The Musical, Keith Brymer Jones Live, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jimmy Carr, and Only Fools and Horses The Musical. Okay, that is quite a list, and they have SO much more on this year so check out their website!
Events in Hanley by Stoke-on-Trent BID: We couldn’t finish writing this without stating the obvious, the Stoke-on-Trent BID team, to be transparent, they haven’t paid us to write this, and they have no idea we were going to mention them. - But they deserve to be mentioned, and this team have done such an incredible job over the years. From knowing how to throw a party, to keeping people safe, and to supporting the local businesses in the area. They are like the 007 of the city, where they do a lot of work behind the scenes creating magical moments. We recently went to the Halloween Street Party and had a lot of fun, we also took part in Operation Sparkle and did a full day of litter picking with them, and loads more, we’re in particularly looking forward to The Big Feast this year; it’s going to be brilliant!
